At the conclusion of the inaugural FortisTCI Under 17 Elite Youth League, prolific goal-scorer Louis Sancho of the Provo Lions was adjudged the season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Sancho scored a whopping 18 goals in the month-long competition, which ended on July 10, at the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) Academy Field located along Venetian Road in Providenciales.
As a result, he also walked away with the top goal-scorer award, as well as the team’s MVP.
The soft-spoken Sancho was pleased at the hatful of accolades collected from his hard work.
“I am happy that I was able to get the trophies. My teammates pushed me a lot, and I am happy for that. Based on my hard work, I expected to get trophies at the end of the season,” Sancho said.
Already, the budding footballer is looking towards next season to once again stamp his dominance.
“Yeah, I am looking to the next season to play again…I can’t wait. This season was good for me, and I think next year will be good as well,” Sancho said.
Light and power company Fortis, has already committed to at least the next two years with the league, and so, the young footballers of the TCI can have much to look forward to.
