NOTICE is hereby given that the Long Vacation period for the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal shall commence on Tuesday 1 August, 2023 and end on Tuesday 19 September, 2023.
During the Long Vacation a Judge will be available to hear bail applications, to deal with sufficiency hearings and matters that are urgent or require prompt attention, as well as those matters that have already been listed by the Registrar for hearing during August.
The Supreme Court will officially resume sittings on Monday 25 September, 2023. The third session of the Court of Appeal will commence on 2 October 2023. Judicial Education “week” will run from 20 – 22 September, 2022.
Court Business During the Long Vacation
A person who wishes to have a matter heard during the long vacation will be required to file a certificate of urgency, setting out the reasons why the matter is urgent or requires prompt attention. The matter will not be listed for hearing unless the Judge deems it fit for urgent hearing.
The Court Registries in both Grand Turk and Providenciales will continue to operate between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays.
