Beaches, Realist Score Wins In TCIFA Masters League

Beaches and Realist scored wins on Saturday night in the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association(TCIFA) Masters League played at the TCIFA Field in Providenciales.


Beaches carved out a hard-fought 4-2 win over Teachers in the first of the double header. Rameeshee Thompson of Beaches scored a brace on the day, with Melvin Harris and Ricardo Walker scoring a goal each.


It was Thompson who open the scoring in the 7th minute of play. But his goal was cancelled out two minutes later, when Orane Cockette of Teachers found the net in the ninth minute.

Harris restored the Beaches lead in he 32nd minute, and three minutes later his teammate Walker scored a cushion goal when he netted in the 35th minute.


The Realist Team

Female player Kimberlee Markland of Teachers, when she blasted home in the 38th minute. But Thompson ensured that Beaches come with a comfortable win when he netted in the 39th minute.


The Beaches player of the match was goalkeeper Kedon Forbes, while Markland was the Teachers’ player of the match

.

In the second encounter, Realist edged Police 2-1, with the winning goals coming from Robert Armstrong and Ganel Joseph. Omar Edwards netted for the police.

The game was intense from the get-go, as both teams sought the ascendency. However, it was Realist that got the go-ahead goal in the 14th minutes through Armstrong.


Police fought to draw level but stout defending by the realist backline thwarted such attacks. Realist then went two up in the encounter in the 37th minute through a Joseph’s strike. However, Police scored the consolation goal in the 50th minute courtesy of Edwards.

Armstrong was the player of the match for Realist, while Sabuton John, the Police Goalkeeper was the player of the match for his team.
