Cheshire Hall Medical Centre Beefs Up Security

The Cheshire Hall Medical Centre has beefed up security in the wake of a reported incident involving a patient and a suspected weapon on our premises.

The hospital said in a news release that the heightened security alert became necessary taking into consideration the well-being of our staff, patients, and visitors.

"Members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force have been notified and are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. We have immediately deployed additional security personnel to reinforce our on-site security measures. They are well-trained and equipped to handle any potential threats swiftly and effectively.

"Additionally, to ensure the safety of everyone within our premises, visitation to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre will be temporarily suspended for the next 24 hours. The public is asked to comply with all instructions from our security personnel and cooperate fully with their efforts. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but it is a necessary precaution to minimize any potential risks.

"InterHealth Canada – Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital will keep the public informed with updates as they become available," the hospital said in a statement.
