Police, Realist To Contest Global Capital TCIFA Masters League Final

The final of the Global Capital Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association Over 35 Masters League will be played on Sunday, September 18 beginning at 8:30p.m. at the Academy Field, located at Venetian Road in Providenciales.

The final will be contested between Realist FC and Police FC. Before that clash will be the third-place play-off between Teachers FC and Beaches FC, which begins at 7p.m.

The Police team got the better of the Teachers in the semifinal on Sunday, September 11, hammering them 7-1 in the curtain raiser, while Realist skipped past Beaches FC in the feature encounter by a 2-1 margin.

Sunday’s final is expected to be a ding-dong battle, as either team is not expected to cede any ground to the other.

Based on the end of the preliminary round, the police would have to be given the advantage going into the final, having clipped Realist 2-1 in the final preliminary round encounter.

The police ended the preliminary round on 10 points, bouncing back from a 1-3 loss to Beaches at the top of the competition, to trounce Teachers FC 14-0 in their second game, ending 1-1- against Realist, blanked Teachers again 5-0, then edged Realist 2-1.

Realists also ended the preliminary round on 10 points, having trounced Teachers FC 9-0, then blanked Beaches 2-0, defeating Beaches 4-1, but lost their last game to Police.

Realist, the defending champions, will be looking for revenge for the loss, while Police will be bubbling with confidence, knowing that they have already demonstrated what it took to outscore their opponent.
