48-Hour Nighttime Curfew Imposed in Kew Town and Dock Yard, Providenciales

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF), with the authorization of the Governor, has announced an emergency nighttime curfew for the Kew Town and Dock Yard areas of Providenciales.
The measure follows recent incidents that have threatened public safety and community stability. The curfew will run for 48 hours, starting Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and will be in force daily from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During these hours, all non-essential movement within the designated zone is prohibited.
Police checkpoints will be set up, and a heightened law enforcement presence will be maintained to ensure compliance. The restricted area covers:
North: Freshwater Avenue (New Testament to Catholic School) – 21°47'18.90"N, 72°15'27.28"W
South: Catholic School to Walter Cox Roundabout – 21°46'35.13"N, 72°16'9.89"W
East: Freshwater Avenue to Fuller Walkin Roundabout to Walter Cox Round – 21°46'49.61"N, 72°15'19.67"W
West: Catholic School to Sunset Ridge Hotel/Dallas – 21°46'52.10"N, 72°16'22.82"W
Only persons traveling to or from work with valid identification will be permitted to move during curfew hours.
The RT&CIPF urges residents to comply with the restrictions and remain indoors throughout the curfew period. Violations may result in penalties under the law.
