Ashley’s Learning Center Benefits from Projetech Charity Challenge

Ashley’s Learning Center (ALC), the Turks and Caicos Islands’ only private special education school dedicated to children with mild to moderate learning disabilities, autism, and developmental delays, has once again received significant support from the Corporate Charity Challenge (CCC), reinforcing the business community’s ongoing commitment to inclusive education.

Through this year’s Corporate Charity Challenge, $76,426 was raised in support of ALC. The funds have enabled the school to undertake capital improvements, continuing ALC’s Board’s long-term commitment to creating a safe, accessible and inspiring learning environment for its students.

This latest investment builds on the tremendous success of the 2024 Corporate Charity Challenge, which raised over $66,000 for ALC. Those funds allowed the school to complete $60,871 in major capital improvements, including the installation of a much-needed new roof, alongside several other facility upgrades that have strengthened the school’s ability to serve children with special educational needs.

Chairman of ALC’s Board, Ben Avenant, said the continued support demonstrates the confidence the corporate community has in the school’s mission and future.

“Every capital investment made today creates learning opportunities for tomorrow. These funds allow us to think beyond immediate operational needs and focus on developing an environment that grows alongside our students. We are incredibly grateful to every business and individual who continues to invest in our future. Their generosity is helping us build a stronger, more inclusive school for generations to come.”

Since opening its doors in 2015, ALC has grown from serving a single student to becoming an essential educational resource for families across the Turks and Caicos Islands. Today, the school provides individualized education and therapeutic support for children whose learning needs often cannot be fully met within traditional classroom settings.

Founder Angela Williams said every improvement to the campus directly enhances the lives of the students.
