Authenticity & Expression Workshop Empowers TCI Top Model Contestants

Contestants in the 2026 TCI Top Model contest recently took part in a powerful workshop titled “Authenticity & Expression” with a focus on personality and self-expression, designed to help the emerging models and public figures discover and communicate their individuality with confidence. The session was led by Mrs Yolande Robinson, Owner and Managing Director of Learn and Lead Ltd, a personal development and performance coaching organisation.

The workshop focused on five core areas essential to personal and professional development: unlocking individuality and self-expression; developing emotional intelligence; storytelling through language and performance; confidence-building exercises; and presenting oneself authentically across different environments. Through a blend of practical exercises, guided reflection and live performance practice, participants were equipped with tools to deepen self-awareness and strengthen the way they convey their stories.

Interactive activities included identity mapping and values clarification to help contestants identify what truly distinguishes them; emotional awareness drills to improve recognition and regulation of feelings on stage and off; and storytelling labs where contestants crafted short narratives and practiced delivery techniques to connect more effectively with audiences.

“Authenticity is the foundation of lasting confidence,” said Mrs Robinson. “When individuals understand their story and learn how to express it with clarity and courage, they don’t just perform better on stage; they live more aligned, resilient lives. This workshop equips contestants with practical tools to show up authentically: in competitions, careers and communities.”

“While our event showcases fashion and modelling, the benefits of this workshop reach far beyond modelling and entertainment. Enhanced emotional intelligence and effective self‑expression strengthen relationships, improve leadership and increase adaptability during life transitions,” said Courtney Robinson, Founder and Executive Producer, TCI Top Model.

Mr Robinson went on to add that: “We view this session as a strategic investment in our contestants’ long‑term development, skills that will serve them in professional settings, community leadership roles and personal relationships long after the competition.”

Organisers of the annual TCI Top Model competition have designed a series of real‑world broadcast, media and fashion challenges to give contestants hands‑on experience of life as a working talent before their public debut. Workshops such as this help build their mental acuity, resilience and interpersonal skills contestants need to navigate professional and personal settings confidently.

The Turks and Caicos’ premier fashion event returns bigger and bolder. Cycle 7 of TCI Top Model culminates in a spectacular Grand Finale on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at Brayton Hall, Providenciales – expect high fashion, fierce competition and unforgettable entertainment.
