Beaches Defeat Jaguars by 65 Runs to Maintain Top Spot in TCICA Standings

Beaches secured an emphatic 65-run victory over Jaguars in the TCICA Senior Men’s Cricket Competition on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Downtown Ball Park in Providenciales, strengthening their position at the round robin league.

Following the win, Beaches now sit comfortably at the summit of the standings with 10 points from 6 matches, boasting an impressive net run rate (NRR) of 2.59. They are level on points with GK Foods but hold a superior NRR, underlining their dominance so far this season.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Beaches made full use of the conditions, posting a strong 196 for 5 from their 20 overs. Kenneth Lewis led the batting effort with a well-played 42, including four fours and three sixes. Ricardo Brown added 36 runs, while Anthony McKnight contributed 28 and Jerome Daley chipped in with 25, ensuring a challenging total for Jaguars.

 

Jaguars’ bowlers struggled to contain the scoring, although Trevon Garraway claimed 2 wickets for 42 runs. Daniel Bourne (1 for 6), Kirtley Charlery (1 for 38), and Quacy Paddy (1 for 26) each took a wicket but were unable to slow Beaches’ momentum.

 

In reply, Jaguars were bowled out for 131 in 19.1 overs. Garraway led the resistance with 35 runs, while Bourne made 28 and Sheldon Phillips added 19. The defeat leaves Jaguars in fourth place in the standings with 6 points from 5 matches and a net run rate of 1.08, still within reach of the top three but needing consistency in upcoming games.

 

Beaches’ bowling attack proved decisive, with Anthony McKnight delivering an outstanding all-round performance, taking 3 wickets for 17 runs. Claude Williams was equally effective with 3 for 15, while Jerome Daley and Sidue Hunter each claimed 2 wickets to seal the victory.

 

McKnight’s all-round display earned him Player of the Match honors.

 

Elsewhere in Group A, GK Foods remain second on 10 points from 7 matches, while Omars occupy third place with 6 points from 4 games and a strong NRR of 2.36. Air Cool Knight Riders sit fifth with 4 points, followed by Police on 2 points. Red Strikers and Kishco round out the standings, both struggling at the bottom with just 2 and 0 points respectively.

 

The competition continues next Sunday, March 22, 2026, when Kishco will face Police as teams look to improve their standings heading into the next phase of the tournament.
