Bereniece Dickenson has been crowned Miss Universe Turks and Caicos 2025, emerging as the overall winner of the national pageant held Friday night at the Gustavus Lightbourne Sports Complex in Providenciales.

Dickenson, who competed in last year’s event but did not place, returned to the competition with renewed determination and walked away with the coveted crown. She also won two of the five sectional prizes: Best Swimsuit and Best Catwalk.

The competition featured four finalists. First runner-up honors went to Selena Grant, who also secured the Best Costume award. Aaliyah Elliot received Miss Congeniality, while Farrah Grant earned the Miss Social Impact award.

In a post-crowning interview, Dickenson described her win as a dream realized.

“I’m still in a state of shock and I’m so happy. This journey started last year, and I’ve been working very hard to achieve this,” she said.

Dickenson also reflected on the personal motivations behind her return to the stage, including a tribute to her late cousin, Reggie Dickenson, and her broader mission to inspire young women around the world.

“Beyond the crown is my purpose. I want to take my message to the universe — to help girls everywhere realize they have the power to overcome obstacles, no matter where they come from.”

She credited faith and resilience as central to her preparation, saying she spent the final moments before the winner was announced in prayer.

“I was having a full-blown conversation with the Holy Spirit and thinking about Reggie. Regardless of the results, I knew he’d be proud,” she said.

Now officially the country's representative, Dickenson will advance to the international Miss Universe competition on November 21 in Thailand. She is looking forward to continued training and support from the Turks and Caicos Islands’ Miss Universe Organization.

“The preparations are in the hands of the organization. Judging by last year, they did an amazing job. I’m ready to work hard and make the Turks and Caicos Islands proud.”

The evening was co-hosted by American comedian Cedric the Entertainer and local broadcaster Cheryl Francis-Forman.

Dickenson will now begin official duties as a national ambassador, with appearances, training, and community initiatives scheduled in the coming months.
