George Thomas Arthur Jr., also known as “Blocks,” appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today facing serious criminal charges, including conspiracy to commit murder and possession of firearms.

The 48-year-old resident of Reece Street, Five Cays, was formally charged with:

·        One count of conspiracy to commit murder

·        Two counts of possession of a firearm

Following his court appearance, Arthur was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to reappear in the Supreme Court on May 2, 2025, for a sufficiency hearing.

Authorities allege that Arthur conspired to murder Guilene Jean Baptiste, a 26-year-old man from Dock Yard, who was fatally shot on August 2, 2023.

The charges follow an extensive investigation led by the Serious Crimes Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. After compiling substantial evidence, law enforcement officials sought guidance from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, which subsequently approved the charges against Arthur.

The case is now set to proceed through the judicial system, with law enforcement and prosecutorial teams committed to securing justice for the victim. More details are expected to emerge as the case develops.
