Bomb Threat Temporarily Suspends Operations at JAGS McCartney International Airport, Turks and Caicos Islands

The tranquility of JAGS McCartney International Airport on Grand Turk was abruptly disrupted today as operations came to a grinding halt following a bomb threat received via email.


The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority swiftly sprung into action upon receiving the ominous communication at 4:48 p.m., prompting an immediate alert to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.


Nikeva Ariza, the airport spokeswoman, recounted the tense moments following the threat. "First responders were immediately deployed to the airport and evacuated the terminal building and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of travelers and staff," she stated.
