The hearts of teachers and students at the Maranatha Academy in Blue Hills were plunged into sadness and despair on Thursday Morning after they turned up to find the school broken into and stripped of most its essential content.
Initial reports are that the hoodlums stole computers, and other important equipment. They, according to our sources, ransacked the administrative offices, staff room and classrooms.
Our sources said that the criminals might have gained entry to the school offices by using a blow torch to cut away the bars.
Parents, who turned up to drop off their children found students grouped at certain section of the compound as the police investigators searched for clues to nab those responsible.
It was not immediately clear whether or not class would be held, to what degree the stealing of the equipment could affect especially students sitting external examinations in the next two months.
At post time, the school did not issue a statement regarding the incident.
