It brings me great joy to share with you the happiness and good cheer of
Christmas.
I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone for your warm
welcome and support as I made the Turks and Caicos Islands my home.
It truly was a joy to meet so many you as I made my district visits across
each of our islands.
I valued greatly your warmth, kindness and support.
It certainly was heartening to see the firm sense of community that defines
each of our islands, which clearly provides a comforting source of
strength, care and joy.
For some, Christmas I know can be a difficult time, particularly for those
who have lost loved ones, or are facing hardship. At these difficult times,
I am reminded of the words of hope and courage from Isaiah 41:10:
‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will
strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right
hand.’
As we come together at this time of good will, may it fill you with faith,
renewed hope and good health. The true meaning of Christmas after all,
is of coming together in the name of peace and goodwill, putting aside our
differences and being thankful for the gift of life.
May we celebrate Christmas by giving the light of hope to those who need it most.
I wish you much joy this Christmas and a blessed New Year.
