CIBC Caribbean and the National Cancer Society of TCI are gearing up for the region’s largest cancer fundraising and awareness event celebrating the 15 years, Walk for the Cure.

The route starts from IGA Gourmet continuing to International School and back on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 5:30 am.

More than 200 people were estimated to have attended last year’s walk, and organisers are hoping to see the number climb to 300-plus this year. President of National Cancer Society of TCI, Vivian Rigby said “Our main goals are to bring awareness, increase public knowledge about cancer prevention and early screening”. Further adding that the survivors are their number one priority and wants the community to know that the NCS will always be there to assist.

As excitement builds for this year’s walk, official Breast Cancer Awareness Walk merchandise is now available for purchase. Supporters can purchase a $20 walk shirt or a $40 combo package which includes a walk shirt, hat and tote bag.

Representatives of CIBC Caribbean will join the National Cancer Society of TCI at Graceway IGA each Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. through September 26 giving members of the community an opportunity to get their gear ahead of the big day. Additional opportunities to purchase shirts will be available for CIBC Caribbean customers at the branch during working hours.

The National Cancer Society of TCI is looking ahead with great anticipation to having its own headquarters, which would allow them to broaden their involvement and support within the community. CIBC Caribbean encourages everyone to come out on October 3, wear walk shirts and help make year 15 of the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk one of the strongest yet.

This walk represents the strength of a community united by a cause. It is an opportunity to walk together in solidarity and celebrate survivors, honour loved ones, stand alongside those currently facing breast cancer and raise support to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families affected. Every step raises awareness; every shirt shows support and every person who joins strengthens the fight against cancer.
