Decomposing Body Discovered in Grace Bay Awaits Identification

As of late Saturday, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) has not released the identity of a decomposed male body discovered during a search in the Grace Bay area.

The body was found around 9:06 a.m. on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, along Long Bay Road. The discovery occurred during a coordinated search operation by police officers and members of the public. The search was being conducted for Brian Tarrence, a 51-year-old American tourist who was reported missing on June 26th. Tarrence was last seen on June 25th at Paradise Inn in Grace Bay, Providenciales.

Though the identity of the body has not yet been confirmed, there is public speculation that it may be that of the missing tourist. Authorities have not verified this, and they have urged the public to avoid speculation until official identification is complete and next of kin are notified.

Acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Rodney Adams extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, stating, “We the police extend condolences and ask that the public not speculate and await positive identification of the deceased.”

The police are asking anyone with information to contact 911 or the nearest police station. Anonymous tips may be submitted via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.crimestoppers.tc.
