Eight Athletes Chosen For The NACAC Age Group U13/15 Championship In DR

The eight athletes to take the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) All Age Athletics Championship to be held in the Dominican Republic from July 15th to 16th have been selected.


The trial was held last Saturday (June 17), and featured a variety of sporting activities, including high jump, long jump, ball throw, hurdles races, shotput, and short and middle-distance races.


Two males and two females have been chosen to enter in each category. In the under 13 category, the selected athletes are: (girls) Mia Parra Gutteriez and Ednay Jeanty both of Grand Turk. In the boy’s division, the selected athletes are Garrico Fulford and Camouri Landy both of Providenciales.


In the Under 15 category, the selected athletes are: (Girls) Sendia Mercel and Taniare Gardiner both of Long Bay High in Providenciales. In the boy’s division, the athletes are Rayvon Black who attends school in Jamaica and Delixson Jean of Grand Turk.


Last Saturday’s trial was one of stiff competition, infused with grit and determination, as almost all the athletes gave of their best under the scorching sunlight. The organizers admitted that it would be rough to choose the eight athletes from the more than 20, who participated.
