F Chambers Celebrates the Call of Attorney Aaliyah K.T. Rigby to TCI Bar

July 27, 2026 marks an important milestone in Aaliyah’s professional journey as she was formally called to the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands before the Honourable Chief Justice Yonnette Cummings Edwards, members of the Judiciary, the legal profession, family and friends.

The application for Aaliyah’s admission was moved by Mr. Mark A. Fulford, Managing Partner of F Chambers and President of the Turks and Caicos Islands Bar Association, who presented her qualifications, training and experience before the Court and expressed confidence in her readiness to begin her career as an attorney.

Aaliyah joined F Chambers in November 2025 as a trainee attorney, where she completed her period of supervised training and gained practical experience across a broad range of legal areas, including civil litigation, criminal law and procedure, family law, land law and conveyancing, wills and estates, constitutional and public law, professional ethics and alternative dispute resolution.

Aaliyah’s development was supported by the attorneys and team members of F Chambers, including Ms. Chloe McMillan, whose guidance and mentorship played an important role in her professional training.

Aaliyah’s admission represents an exciting addition to the F Chambers litigation team. With a particular interest in both civil and criminal litigation, Aaliyah will continue developing her advocacy skills while contributing to the firm’s representation of clients before the Courts of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Working alongside the experienced litigators at F Chambers, Aaliyah will continue to build her practice in these important areas of law and contribute to the firm’s commitment to providing strong, effective and client-focused representation.

A Turks and Caicos Islander, Aaliyah’s journey reflects dedication, perseverance and a commitment to returning home to contribute through the legal profession.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Nova Southeastern University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She subsequently completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law and her Bar Vocational Studies at City, University of London, specialising in Corporate Law and Practice, graduating with Merit. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in March 2026 before seeking admission to practise in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Reflecting on her call, Aaliyah expressed gratitude to her family, mentors and colleagues who supported her journey and acknowledged the responsibility that comes with joining the legal profession.

She said:

“As I begin this next chapter, I do so with a profound sense of responsibility. There is no greater privilege than being entrusted to serve the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands through the practice of law.

 “I aspire to advocate with courage, serve with compassion, and uphold the principles of fairness, integrity and justice in every matter entrusted to me. My hope is to contribute meaningfully to strengthening public confidence in our legal system while balancing individual rights with the broader interests of our society.

“Today is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to learning, serving, and honouring the oath I will soon take. Excellence is not a destination but a daily choice.

“I hope that throughout my career I will be remembered not simply as an advocate and lawyer, but as someone who used the law as a force for good; someone who served with humility, advocated with conviction, and never lost sight of the privilege and responsibility that come with this calling.

“Finally, to the aspiring young people of these islands who may one day dream of standing where I stand today, know that your path does not have to be perfect to lead you to purpose. I say this from my own personal experience. There will be challenges and setbacks, but keep going.”

Aaliyah’s words reflect the values that guide the legal profession, service, perseverance and a commitment to using the law to make a meaningful contribution to society.
