It is reported that at about 2:20a.m. the police received a report from a caller that the ‘Walkin Marine’ building was on fire. The Fire Department, which was immediately informed, dispatched one domestic firefighting truck, along with a water tanker and a firefighting truck from the Providenciales International Airport.

It took the firefighters approximately four and a half hours to put the blaze under control, as it was minutes to 7a.m. that the fire department reported that the inferno was extinguished.

Proprietor for the property Mr. Sherlock Walkin, who visited the scene, was in obvious shock.

A view of the fire destroyed all the contents of the buildings, reducing them to mere shells.

The Fire Department told NewslineTCI that investigations, as post time, had not commenced because the building inside the building was still hot from the blaze. A fire officer pointed out that as soon as it is possible, they would commence their investigation.
