Police are investigating a suspected case of carbon monoxide poisoning that claimed the lives of four people in Providenciales this afternoon.
Around 4:49 p.m., officers from the Serious Crime Unit were called to a residence on Silverado Road, South Dock, after reports that a man and a young girl inside the home appeared unresponsive.
When officers arrived, they found the concrete-structured building locked with all doors and windows secured. Looking through a window, they could see a man and a child inside.
With assistance from the Fire Department, officers forced entry into the home. Inside, they discovered the bodies of two adult women, one adult man, and a female minor. All were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigations indicate that a generator had been running close to the house. Police believe fumes may have entered the residence through a small hole in the wall, leading to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
The scene remains under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
