Full House Greets Provo Contractors Summit

A packed house greeted the Providenciales leg of the Government’s Contractors Summit, held at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Complex on Thursday, May 20.

More than 200 contractors attended the event to learn more about contract opportunities currently available within the Turks and Caicos Islands Government and how to apply for those projects.

They were also made aware of the $20 million in projects that will be spent before the close of the current financial year, and how they stand to benefit. Minister responsible for Infrastructure Hon. Akierra Missick, told attendees that government would endeavor to ensure that contracts are evenly spread to qualified contractors.

A number of government technocrats from that ministry made presentations. The event was also attended by Deputy Governor Her Excellency Anya Williams and also a number of parliamentarians, including Minister with responsibility for Education and Labour Hon. Rachel Taylor; Minister of Tourism Hon. Josephine Connolly; Hon. Shaun Malcolm; Hon. Matthew Stubbs; Hon. Harold Charles; and Hon. Willin Billiard.

Member of Parliament for the Wheeland Constituency Hon. Kyle Knowles, and the Junior Minister within the Infrastructure Ministry, chaired the event.

The event was open to all contractors…building and otherwise.
