The Turks and Caicos Islands Gaming Control Commission have announced a new survey to investigate the prevalence of gambling addictions and the effectiveness of responsible gaming practices in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
This survey is part of a wider initiative to promote responsible gaming and protect individuals and families from the negative consequences associated with problem gambling.
Leonardo Lightbourne, the Responsible Gaming Coordinator from the Commission, will lead the survey research.
Lightbourne stated, "The Gaming industry has grown significantly over the past decades in the Turks and Caicos Islands; with proper research and policies, measures can be put in place to protect individuals and families from problem gaming. Responsible gaming is all about understanding when it's time to take a break and when to seek help."
The survey will collect data from a representative sample of the Turks and Caicos Islands population to comprehensively analyze the locals' and tourists' gambling behavior and attitudes. The primary objective of this survey is to investigate the prevalence of gambling addiction in the Turks and Caicos Islands and to identify the effectiveness of responsible gaming practices in mitigating problem gambling.
