Godfrey Been was returned as the Turks and Caicos Islands Commonwealth Games Association president at the body’s Annual General Meeting held on March 23, 2024, at the Salt Mills Plaza Office in Grace Bay Providenciales.
Been was elected unopposed, as all members expressed satisfaction on his stewardship. Edith Cox was voted in as Vice President, Rosalie Ingham-Hall as General Secretary, Edith Skippings as Assistant Secretary, Linda Grant as Treasurer, Arthur Forbes as Assistant Treasurer, Dorn Fulford as Coaches Representative, Courtney Missick as Athletes Representative, and Benneth Williams as Public Relations Officer.
Been expressed his gratitude to those who entrusted him with the presidency once again. He extended congratulations to the newly elected Executive Board Members, acknowledging their commitment to serving the Association.
The primary agenda of the gathering was to conduct elections for the executive board, determining the leadership for the forthcoming four years. Nine pivotal positions were open for re-election, fostering an atmosphere of democratic participation and accountability.
Each member offered remarks, expressing appreciation to the sporting Federations/Associations for their votes and pledged their dedication to advancing the objectives of the Commonwealth Games Association. The event underscored the importance of collaborative leadership and the shared vision for promoting sports excellence in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
