Health Symposium 2023 held under the Theme: “My Health, My Priority”

Leading healthcare professionals, panellists, and enthusiasts, gathered at the recently held Health Symposium at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa on Thursday, 14th September 2023.

The event, organised by the Health Promotions and Advocacy Unit (HPAU) within the Ministry of Health and Human Services, brought together experts from diverse fields to discuss and share insights on the latest advancements and challenges in healthcare.

Themed "My Health, My Priority," the symposium aimed to provide a platform for dialogue and collaboration among healthcare stakeholders, residents, and individuals facing various health challenges. The event featured engaging presenters, panel discussions and exhibitions covering a wide range of topics crucial to the evolving healthcare landscape.

Highlights of the symposium included:

Keynote Speaker: TCI’s very own Drexwell Seymour, Managing Director of HLB, shared his personal health journey and survival story with the audience noting the importance of regular medical check-ups, adherence to prescribed medications, and the realisation that your health is indeed your priority.

Display and Testing Booths: Attendees had the opportunity to engage in relevant healthcare tests, discuss health challenges with professionals, and be guided on the importance of good personal healthcare.

Panel Discussions: Expert panellists explored pertinent issues including healthcare access, mental and oral health, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and agriculture which emphasised sustainability, in terms of helping us lower costs and eat healthier with the introduction of backyard or kitchen gardens.

Networking Opportunities: The event fostered meaningful connections among attendees, allowing them to build relationships and partnerships aimed at advancing healthcare.
