The girls sealed the historic double with a 2-0 victory over Clement Howell High School in the championship final at the National Stadium last Saturday, following in the footsteps of their male counterparts, who defeated the same opponents 1-0 in the boys’ final just one week earlier.

The back-to-back championship victories marked an outstanding achievement for H.J. Robinson High School, which demonstrated its footballing strength across both divisions.

Aaliyah Williams and Asia Williams were the heroes of the girls’ final, scoring within a minute of each other to secure the championship and complete a memorable fortnight of success for the school.

Williams Duo Seals Championship Victory

The girls’ championship encounter began as a tightly contested affair, with both H.J. Robinson and Clement Howell battling for supremacy in an evenly matched opening half.

Neither team managed to break the deadlock before the halftime whistle, leaving the score locked at 0-0 and the championship hanging in the balance.

However, H.J. Robinson emerged with renewed determination in the second half and delivered two quick goals that ultimately settled the contest.

Aaliyah Williams, wearing the number seven jersey, opened the scoring in the 37th minute to give H.J. Robinson a crucial advantage.

Just one minute later, Asia Williams, wearing the number nine jersey, doubled the lead with a 38th-minute strike, putting the Grand Turk school firmly in control.

The two-goal burst left Clement Howell with a difficult task, and despite their efforts, they were unable to find a response.

H.J. Robinson maintained its advantage until the final whistle, securing a 2-0 victory and adding the girls’ championship trophy to the boys’ title already captured a week earlier.

Asia Williams was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the championship final for her contribution to the victory.

The match was played in a disciplined manner, with neither team receiving a caution.

Marjorie Basden Claims Third Place

Meanwhile, Marjorie Basden High School secured third place in the girls’ competition following a narrow 1-0 victory over A. Louise Garland Thomas High School in the third-place playoff.

The encounter remained goalless at halftime, with both teams battling to gain the upper hand.

The decisive moment came in the 33rd minute when Marjorie Basden's number 10, Rose Valcin, successfully converted a penalty to give her team a 1-0 advantage.

That strike proved enough to secure the victory and third-place honours for Marjorie Basden.

Valcin's match-winning performance earned her the MVP award.

A. Louise Garland Thomas High School's number seven, Weneiris Nunez, received the only yellow card of the match, while Marjorie Basden completed the encounter without any cautions.
