Inter-High Football Continues Saturday With The Boys In Action

The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) Inter-High School Championship continues on Saturday with nine matches, with the boys’ teams in action, following the girls’ slate of matches on Friday.



Elite was the biggest winner of the day, scoring a 5-0 win over Clement Howell High

The matches are played at the National Stadium and the TCIFA Field.


Wesley Methodist High School (WMHS) versus Raymond Gardiner High School (RGHS) will kick off the day’s activities beginning at 9a.m. at the National Stadium.


Later at 11a.m. there will be double match at the TCIFA Field, one in which Elite High School will go up against Clement Howell High School (CHHS) in a Provo derby. In the other game, Louise Garland Thomas High School (LGTHS) will face-off against the Marjorie Basden High School (MBHS).


The competition continues at 12noon with another double match at the TCIFA Field. In one game HJ Robinson High School (HJRHS) will go up against Wesley Methodist School High School (WMHS), and British West Indies Collegiate (BWIC) will take on the RGHS.

At 1p.m. LGTHS will battle CHHS in one game, while in the other, Elite High will take on The Marjorie Basden High.


In the final round of matches for the day starting at 2p.m., British West Indies Collegiate will tackle Wesley Methodist High School in one game, while in the other game, HJ Robinson will go up against Raymond Gardiner High.


GIRLS PLAYED ON FRIDAY


In the girls’ segment on Friday, Louise Garland Thomas, Elite High and British West Indies Collegiate all scored convincing wins.



BWIC beat LGTHS 3-0

Louise Garland Thomas High skipped past Elite 3-0, with goals from Gerry Harris in the first minute of play, Branary Rigby in the eighth minute, with Krystal Williams completing the rout in the 27th minute. Rigby was MVP for the game, while Nelly Mongerard was the MVP for Elite.

Elite, however, bounced back to record the biggest win of the day, trouncing Clement Howell High 5-0, Ruth Gaelle Tiresas scoring a hattrick and Sterline Avriel netting a double.


Avriel opened the scoring for Elite in the 10th minute, with Tiresas extending the lead two minutes later. Avriel completed her double in the 18th minute. Tiresas got her second goal in the 31st minute, completing the hattrick in 40th minute.



Louise Garland Thomas High won one game and lost the other.

Tiresas was the MVP for Elite, while Fayesha Charles was the the Clement Howell High School MVP.



Clement Howell High lost 0-5 to Elite

BWIC ended the day winners after blanking LGTHS 3-0. Annika Harry netted a brace and Erline Dorastin scoring the other. Harry opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and her team pressed for the second, but had to wait until the 36th minute to get it, when Dorastin put her name on the scoresheet. Four minutes later Harry put the game beyond doubt when she registered her double for the game.


Dorastin was the BWIC MVP, while Krysann Williams was the LGTHS MVP.
