Killers of 71-Year-Old Senior Citizen Still At Large

 The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) is actively investigating the tragic death of 71-year-old Reginald Nathaniel Forbes, who was found dead on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in the Five Cays area of Providenciales.


At approximately 10:27 a.m., police received reports of loud explosions on Mathilda Way, Five Cays. Officers from the Serious Crime Unit, Tactical Unit, and other police divisions were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Forbes lying motionless on the ground, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.


The killing has shocked the community, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin expressed his deep condolences to Mr. Forbes' family and friends, describing the murder as a "senseless" act of violence that has left the entire community in mourning.


"The disregard and disrespect for life by criminals have left an entire community mourning," Commissioner Martin stated. "The RT&CIPF is doing everything within the confines of the law to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice. We are calling on the public who may have witnessed or have in their possession footage of the incident to come forward with the information."


The police are encouraging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the nearest police station, call 911, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-8477. Additionally, individuals can share information through the Crime Stoppers P3 app.


The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to bring those responsible for this heinous crime to justice.
