LIST OF YOUTH WEEK ACTIVITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY

In alignment with the United Nations Declaration on International Youth Day, the Turks and Caicos Islands Department of Youth Affairs is proud to host National Youth Week under the theme "Celebrating Youth Leadership (Empower, Envision, Energize, Educate, Engage)." Throughout this week, we will be focusing on various aspects of youth leadership and engagement, while also providing opportunities for young people to take the lead in organizing events for each island.

Event Highlights:

  • Sunday, September 24th, 2023 (Grand Turk): We kick off with a Church Service and Youth Gospel Concert on Grand Turk. Please note that the Gospel Concert is free to attend.

  • Monday, September 25th, 2023 (All Islands): Youth will be empowered with upskilling opportunities, including technical vocational skills, job fairs, and soft skill training.

  • Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 (South Caicos): A Youth Forum will allow young voices to envision and co-create opportunities for youth development and nation-building.

  • Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 (Provo): We will energize our youth by recognizing and celebrating at least 30 outstanding young individuals through the Inaugural National Youth Awards. Please note that there is an entry fee of $50 for adults and $15 for children to attend the National Youth Awards. However, members of the media will have free entry, and a designated area will be available for interviews. To purchase tickets, kindly contact the Director of the Youth Department, Jasmine Thomas, at jparker@gov.tc or by phone at 331-5299.

  • Thursday, September 28th, 2023 (North Caicos): Youth will be educated on green skills and entrepreneurship opportunities with a focus on environmental sustainability.
