Local educator Kordell Campbell-Forbes can now add author to her name, with the publishing of her maiden book – Memories Of My Grandfather – which she describes as an adolescent novel.

The Sandy Point, North Caicos native said the book is a poignant story about her grandfather Daniel Emmanuel Campbell, a pioneer, who she said was very influential in his community.
Campbell is a trained secondary school English teacher and the acting principal of the Long Bay High School. Many academically successful students have passed through her tutelage, while teaching at the Clement Howell High School, before moving to Long Bay High. She stated that the book is the first in a series.
“Memories of My Grandfather is the first of a sequel, which will be released later this year,” Campbell said.
Asked the wife and mother how she managed to author the book, having so many responsibilities, she told NEWSLINETCI that she took full advantage of last summer’s break during the COVID-19 lockdown to complete it.
“I used the lockdown period to complete during the summer break so roughly two months,” she said.
The official book-launch took place at the Shisha Lounge on Grace Bay and was well supported by family, friends and government officials.
