Man Shot Dead After Reportedly Opening Fire on Police in Blue Hills

A man was shot and killed on Wednesday evening after reportedly opening fire on police officers in the Blue Hills community.

Reports indicate that police received information that a wanted man and his accomplices were seen in the Snake Hill/Miracle Close area around 6:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the location, the men allegedly discharged their weapons at police. Officers returned fire, fatally wounding one of the men.

The others escaped the scene and are currently being pursued by law enforcement.

The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released.
