Mass Shooting Outside Popular Night Spot Leaves One Dead, Four Injured



One man is dead and four others are nursing gunshot wounds following a gun attach approximately one hour after midnight on Tuesday outside the popular Grace Bay night spot – Shisha Lounge.


The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), who said the incident took place at about 12:51, are actively investigating the incident.


This death brings to nine – the number of persons have been murdered since the start of the year.


According to Head of Crime, Safeguarding, and Public Protection, Superintendent Dean Holden, preliminary reports indicate that four males were leaving the entertainment establishment when they became the target of the shooting.


The assailants opened fire on the group, leaving one person dead at the scene, while the other four victims were rushed to receive medical attention for the injuries they sustained during the attack.


As of now, the gunman or gunmen responsible for the violent act remain at large, prompting the RTCIPF to intensify their efforts to apprehend them.

Commissioner of Police (ag) Rodney Adams expressed his condemnation of the attack, stating that the criminals involved have shown "brazenness and disdain" for human life. He assured the public that no effort will be spared in pursuing and bringing the perpetrators to justice.


Commissioner Adams further urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and cooperate with the authorities. He encouraged witnesses or individuals with any knowledge of the incident to report it to the closest police station, dial 911, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, allowing them to share information anonymously.


The authorities are appealing to the public to assist in their investigation to ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable.
