Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we begin Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the National Cancer Society of the Turks and Caicos Islands joins our community and people around the world in raising awareness, sharing hope, and standing in solidarity with everyone affected by breast cancer.

This month is a time to honour survivors, encourage those who are currently undergoing treatment, remember the loved ones we have lost, and recognize the families, caregivers, healthcare professionals and friends who walk beside them through every stage of the journey.

Awareness must also lead to action. I encourage women to know their bodies, keep regular health appointments, discuss appropriate breast cancer screening with their healthcare providers, and seek medical attention when they notice a change that concerns them. Early detection can provide more treatment options and can improve outcomes.

As a Society, we remain committed to education, advocacy and compassionate support. Throughout October, may every pink ribbon remind us that no one should face cancer alone. Let us check on one another, encourage one another and continue to build a community where hope is stronger than fear.

With hope and determination,

Vivian E. Rigby

President

National Cancer Society TCI
