Ministry of Health Denies 'False' Biohazard Alert Social Media Report

The Ministry of Health and Human Services (MoHHS) has dismissed as false a report circulating on social media titled “Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands Ministry of Health and Human Services Public Health Advisory; Critical Biohazard Alert,” dated December 19, 2025.

In a statement, the Ministry confirmed that it did not issue the document and warned that the information contained in the report is misleading.

MoHHS further reassured residents and visitors that there is no public health advisory or biohazard alert in effect in the Turks and Caicos Islands related to septicemic necrotizing fasciitis.

The Ministry is urging the public to rely solely on official communications issued by the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Verified updates and advisories from MoHHS are available through official TCI Government media platforms, as well as the Ministry’s verified Facebook and Instagram pages.

Members of the public are also encouraged to refrain from sharing unverified information and to play their part in preventing the spread of misinformation.
