National Internship and Apprenticeship Programme (NIAP) Student Registration Now Open for Cycle 2026

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands - Tuesday, 25 November 2025: The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture is pleased to announce that registrations for the NIAP Cycle 2026 officially opened 24th November 2025. Tertiary students across the islands and abroad are encouraged to apply before the deadline on 30th January 2026.

 

NIAP provides valuable work-based learning opportunities for students, helping them gain practical experience, develop professional skills, and enhance their employability. Over the past three years, the programme has successfully assisted over 300 students in securing meaningful placements across various industries within their field of academic study.

 

Understanding the Difference: Internship Programme vs Apprenticeship Programme

Internship Programme: For tertiary students returning home for the summer break (June 15th – July 31st, 2026). This four- to six-week placement provides real-world work exposure and helps students apply their academic knowledge while exploring their career interests.

 

Apprenticeship Programme: For tertiary graduates seeking long-term professional experience, with enrollment open April–November. This 12–24-month placement offers in-depth, hands-on training that builds industry-specific skills and often leads to professional certification and or gainful employment.

 

Eligibility Requirements

16 – 29 years old.

Be enrolled in or have graduated from a tertiary institution (college/university).

Provide proof of legal status (TCI Status Card or TCI B.O.T.C. Passport).

Provide a resume and cover letter.
