Omar’s edged out Police by 10 runs in an exciting encounter in the Turks and Caicos Islands Cricket Association (TCICA) Senior Men’s Competition, played on Sunday, April 19 at the Downtown Ball Park.

After losing the toss and being sent into bat, Omar’s posted a competitive total of 183 for 7 from their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a composed half-century from Rohan Hines, who struck 61 runs, including nine boundaries and a six, to provide stability at the top of the order.
He found solid support from Garrett Campbell, who contributed a brisk 29 runs, featuring two fours and two sixes, while Xavier Scott added 19 runs with two fours and a six to keep the momentum going in the middle overs.
Police bowlers managed to contain the scoring at key intervals despite the strong total. Shan Livermore was the standout performer with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his four overs. Aaron Chalarie chipped in with 2 wickets for 44 runs, while Ricardo Browne and Douglas Odane each picked up a wicket, conceding 33 runs apiece from their respective spells.
Chasing 184 for victory, Police mounted a determined response but ultimately fell just short, finishing on 173 for 7 at the end of their 20 overs. Alpha Edwards led the charge with an impressive 58 runs, striking seven fours and two sixes in a well-paced innings.
Garvin Bruno supported with 28 runs, including five boundaries and a six, while Nixon Lewis contributed 21 runs with four fours. Sabuton John added 12 runs, hitting two boundaries, but the chase lost momentum in the closing stages.
Omar’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure to secure the narrow win. Garrett Campbell capped off an outstanding all-round performance by taking 3 wickets for 22 runs from his four overs, proving decisive in restricting the Police batting lineup. Robert Johnson and Xavier Scott also made important contributions with the ball, each taking a wicket while maintaining steady control during their spells.
For his all-round excellence, scoring 29 runs and claiming 3 wickets for 22 runs, Garrett Campbell was deservedly named Man of the Match.
The TCICA Senior Men’s Competition continues on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with Omar’s set to face Jaguars in what promises to be another competitive fixture.
