Ona Glinton and Community Fellowship scored the biggest wins of the latest round of matches in the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association Inter-Primary School Competition on Friday.
Ona Glinton and Community Fellow scored identical 4-0 wins over Eliza Simons and Thelma Lightbourne respectively. The Ona Glinton/ Eliza Simons game was played in Grand Turk, while the Community Fellowship/Thelma Lightbourne match-up was played at the National Stadium in Providenciales.
Asia Williams netted a hattrick for Ona Glinton vs Eliza Simons. Williams opened the scoring in the 14th minute of play. Jamai Robinson extended the lead a minute later – in the 15th minute. Williams scored again in the 18th minute, and completed her hattrick two minutes later – in the 20th minute. Naturally, she was name player of the match for her team, while Amaelia Bent was the player of the match for Eliza Simons.
Over in Providenciales, Marvens Doriscar scored a brace for Community Fellowship against Thelma Lightbourne. It was Community Fellowship’s number 10 player, Emdjyn Jean, who opened scoring in the 6th minute. Doriscar, who dons the number 6 jersey put his name on the scoresheet in the 11th minute, before completing his double two minutes later – in the 13th minute. The number 9 player, Carry Exavier, put the lid on things in the 25th minute.
Doriscar was later named player of the match for his team, while the number 15 for Thelma Lightbourne, Jamar Malcolm, was named his team’s Player of the Match.
In another match-up, Enid Capron carved out a 1 – 0 victory over MILLS Institute, through a strike from their number 13 player Hareph Saintus, who netted in the 18th minute.
Enid Capron’s number 9 player, Marcus Skippings, was named Player of the Match for his team, while Amoy Senior was named MILLS’ Player of the Match.
In another match-up, Provo Primary outscored Ianthe Pratt 2-1. The Provo Primary win was courtesy of a double strike from Odyn Nielson, who blasted two from the penalty spot in 3rd and 19th minute. Dudly Mintus scored for Ianthe Pratt in the 4th minute.
Nielson, who sports the number 8 jersey for Provo Primary was adjudged his team’s Player of the Match, while the number 10 for Ianthe Pratt, Dudly Mintus, was named his team’s Player of the Match.
In another encounter on the day, Richmond Hill and Provo Christian played to a scoreless stalemate. Damari Wilson of Provo Christian was Player of the Match for his team, Ashton Dormeus was named the player of the match for Richmond Hill.
The competition continues on Tuesday with another round of matches.
