Police Commissioner, Christian Council Head Pay Condolence Visit to Murder Victim's Widow

In a heartfelt gesture of compassion and support, Police Commissioner Edvin Martin, accompanied by the Force Chaplain and President of the Turks and Caicos Islands Christian Council, Pastor Wilbert Jennings, paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late Reginald Forbes.


 This solemn visit took place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, just days after Mr. Forbes was tragically murdered at his home in Five Cays, Providenciales.


The 71-year-old Forbes, who was widely respected in the community, succumbed to gunshot injuries on Sunday, August 11, 2024. His untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands, prompting a vigorous investigation by local authorities.


During the visit, Commissioner Martin expressed deep sympathy on behalf of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. He acknowledged the pain and grief being experienced by the widow and assured her that the police are fully committed to bringing the perpetrator of this senseless crime to justice.


“This is a tragic loss not only for your family but for the entire community,” Commissioner Martin said, addressing the widow with a tone of empathy and determination. “The police are working tirelessly to investigate this heinous crime and bring the offender to justice. Our detectives are leaving no stone unturned, and we are committed to ensuring justice is delivered. The senseless killing of Mr. Forbes has deeply impacted our community.”


The Commissioner’s words of reassurance were accompanied by an ongoing commitment to thorough investigative work by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
