Police, Fire Officials Investigate Devastating Blue Hills Blaze

Authorities are investigating a major fire that gutted several homes in the Blue Hills community on Friday, June 27.

At approximately 3:31 p.m., officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) responded to an emergency call reporting a fire on Mary Jane Lane. When officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple wooden structures fully engulfed in flames.

Police immediately began evacuating nearby residents to ensure public safety, while firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, officials continue to assess the situation to determine how many people have been displaced by the fire.

The blaze, which consumed a number of homes in the densely built area, has since been extinguished. The full extent of the damage is still being evaluated, and officials have not yet released an estimate of property losses.

Fire and police investigators are now working together to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may aid in the inquiry.

The RTCIPF expressed gratitude for the swift response of emergency services and the cooperation of the community during the incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
