In a statement issued by the Police Public Affairs and Communications Office, the Force expressed profound sadness at Beckles’ passing, describing him as a dedicated officer whose service left a lasting impact on both the organisation and the wider community.

Beckles enlisted in the RT&CIPF on February 25, 2005, and over the course of his career served in several key units, including the Criminal Investigations Department, Tactical Unit, and Special Branch, as well as in Beat and Patrol operations.

He was widely regarded by colleagues as hardworking, disciplined, and deeply committed to his duties, consistently demonstrating professionalism throughout his years of service.

According to the statement, Beckles died while receiving medical treatment.

Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams paid tribute to the late officer, noting that his passing is deeply felt across the Force.

“It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of one of our own. Today, we mourn not only a dedicated police officer, but also a colleague, a friend, and a servant of the people who embodied courage, commitment, and integrity,” Adams said.

He added that Beckles’ contributions and character would not be forgotten, extending condolences to his family, loved ones, and fellow officers.

“We stand with you in this moment of grief, and we honour the life, service, and legacy of a true public servant,” the statement concluded.
