Police Investigate Blue Hills Gas Station Shooting

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has launched an investigation into a daring daylight shooting at a gas station in Blue Hills, Providenciales, on Tuesday.


According to the RT&CIPF, the incident occurred around 10:59 am when the Police Control Room received a call reporting gunshots at a location along the Millennium Highway, Providenciales. Officers were dispatched immediately.


The police stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the occupant(s) of a red Suzuki Swift were at a business place when another car pulled alongside it, and its occupants started shooting. The driver of the Swift managed to drive off while the unidentified vehicle sped off in a different direction.


Shortly after, officers found the Swift abandoned near Miracle Close, Blue Hills. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.


The police said the incident remains an active investigation, and the RT&CIPF is seeking public assistance. They urge anyone with information or CCTV footage of the shooting to contact 911, the nearest police station, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 to provide information anonymously. Additionally, individuals are encouraged to download the Crime Stoppers P3 app to submit tips.


The RT&CIPF said it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the community and is working diligently to apprehend those responsible for this incident.
