Police Investigate Sudden Death Incidents


The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) is investigating two separate sudden death incidents that occurred on Monday, July 8th, 2024, in South Caicos and Providenciales.


Around 10 a.m., the Police Control Room received a report of a male employee falling from the fourth floor of a resort in South Caicos. The employee, who was fixing an air-conditioning unit, fell off a ladder. Officers and medical personnel responded immediately. The victim was transported to the South Caicos Clinic but was pronounced dead at 11:47 a.m. The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old Indian national, but his name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.



Shortly after midday, officers responded to another incident at a resort along Lower Bight in Providenciales. They found a male lying on his back on the beach, surrounded by people performing chest compressions. The 52-year-old victim had been pulled from the water after being discovered floating. Despite being rushed to the Cheshire Hall Medical Center via ambulance, he passed away.


"The RT&CIPF is actively investigating both incidents to determine the circumstances surrounding these tragic events," a news release from the police stated. in the meantime, the police has condolences to the family and friends of the deceased men.
