The TCICA Senior Men’s Cricket Competition brought the heat to the Downtown Ball Park on Sunday, June 15, as Police secured a confident victory over the Jaguars in a gripping T20 encounter.

Winning the toss, Jaguars opted to bat first and posted a competitive 138 for 9 in their 20 overs. Leading the batting charge was Kirtley Charley, who delivered a classy half-century—50 runs highlighted by six boundaries. He was well-supported by Ryan Wagner, who added a quickfire 22, featuring five fours.

However, Jaguars’ innings was curtailed by a fiery bowling display from Police’s Sabuton John. The right-arm pacer tore through the batting lineup with figures of 4 wickets for just 13 runs in his 3 overs. Richard Lyndon Tyson also played a crucial role, taking 2 wickets for 30 runs in his full spell.

In response, the Police batsmen made light work of the target, reaching 139 runs in just 17 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Damion St Ange anchored the chase with a well-crafted 41, which included three fours and two sixes. Alpha Edwards backed him up with a blistering 30, also peppered with three boundaries and two sixes. All-rounder Sabuton John capped off his stellar day with the bat, adding 14 runs, including a boundary.

Despite the Jaguars’ best efforts in the field—with Daniel Bourne taking 2 wickets for 37 runs, and Charley and Randy Laulys each chipping in with a wicket—Police proved too strong on the day.

For his outstanding performance with both bat and ball, Sabuton John was rightfully named Man of the Match.

The TCICA Cricket Competition continues next Sunday, June 22, 2025, with another exciting clash on the horizon as Kishco takes on GK Foods.
