Realist, Beaches score latest Masters League Wins

Realist and Beaches scored wins in the latest Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) Masters League played on Saturday at the TCIFA Field.


In the first game of the evening, the high-flying Realist outscored Teachers 4-2. The winning goals came from Phillip Shearer, who scored a brace, Barrington Sormers and Romain Small.

Realist wasted little time in getting their name on the scoresheet when Shearer netted in the fifth minute of the encounter. He widened the lead four minutes later when in the 9th minute he netted again.


Teachers, as the game went on, began to string passes together and looking more purposeful in their play, which bore fruit in the 17th minute when their number 23 player, Franz Antonio Clennon scored the first of his brace in the game.


The Beaches Team

Clennon allowed his team to draw level in the 32nd minute, and after which, began to press for the win. However, it would be Realist who got the go-ahead goal when Sormers, donning the number 6 jersey, who shot past the Teachers goalkeeper in the 41st minute. Realist sealed in the issue seven minutes later, when in the 48th minute small netted.


Phillip Shearer

Shearer was voted man of the match for Realist, while Clennon was voted man of the Match for Teachers.


Alwayne Spence

In the second encounter Beaches blanked Police 2-0 courtesy of a brace by Rameeshee Thompson. Thompson netted in the 23rd and 36th minute of play to give his team victory.

Alwayne Spence was named player of the match for Beachers, while Sabuton John was named Police’s Player of the match.
