The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said it would continue its search on Monday for a Jetski operator who went missing on Sunday.

The incident reportedly occurred off the coast of Providenciales, prompting an immediate response from local authorities and boaters in the area.

The name of the man has not been released, but authorities said they have been working tirelessly to locate him. Reports are that the man, said to be a jetski guide, was seen riding the watercraft earlier in the day. However, the craft was later seen minus the man.

Despite intensive search efforts, the missing individual has not been located at nightfall, forcing an abandonment of search efforts, with the intentions of resuming on Monday.

However, the weather conditions have not been favourable for search and rescue, as from daybreak there has been torrential rainfall, accompanied by lightning.

Officials are dumbfounded as to what could have transpired resulting in the man being missing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the missing individual to come forward.
