TCHTA President James McAnally Appointed to Tourism Authority Board

The Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) welcomes the confirmation that its President, James McAnally, will serve on the Board of the newly established Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism Authority.

The appointment follows the passage of the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism Authority Act 2026, which provides for the President of the TCHTA to serve as a member of the Authority’s Board of Directors for a 3-year term.

The provision establishes formal representation for the TCHTA within the governance structure of the new Authority, ensuring that the perspectives and priorities of the country’s private tourism sector can contribute to important discussions and decisions affecting the future of the industry.

The Tourism Authority has been established to support the marketing and management of the Turks and Caicos Islands as a competitive tourism destination. Its mandate includes sustainable tourism development, tourism policy and strategy, stakeholder collaboration, research and tourism intelligence, quality standards, training and technical support, and advocacy for airlift and access.

TCHTA Chief Executive Officer Stacy Cox congratulated McAnally and welcomed the

 opportunity for the Association to contribute at this important level.

Having had the privilege of serving on the former Experience Turks and Caicos Board, I understand firsthand the value of meaningful private-sector participation, and I am pleased to see James now contribute to this new governance structure.”

McAnally said he looks forward to representing the Association and supporting a collaborative approach to the continued development of tourism across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Under the Act, the Authority’s Board will be responsible for its governance, policy, performance and general administration, including oversight of its strategies, business plans and management performance.

The TCHTA looks forward to working alongside the Government, the Tourism Authority and fellow industry stakeholders to support a strong, sustainable and competitive future for tourism in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
