Governor designate Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam is scheduled to arrive in the Turks and Caicos Islands Wednesday, June 28, to assume her new role.
Daniel-Selvaratnam, who will not only be TCI’s first female, but the overseas territory’s first person of color, is to be welcomed by Her Excellency the Acting Governor Anya Williams, and Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting.
Her Excellency Daniel-Selvaratnam is scheduled to be sworn in as Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands at 10am on Thursday, June 29, at the House of Assembly in Grand Turk, followed by a reception at Waterloo that evening.
Speaking at the time her appointment was announced, Governor designate Daniel-Selvaratnam commented:
‘I am honoured to be appointed as the next Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands ... I look forward to meeting and serving the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands’.
The swearing in will be live-streamed on the Governor’s Office Facebook page.
