TCI Bubbling With Confidence Ahead Of St. Kitts Game

Fresh from their mouthwatering victory over Curacao on Sunday, the Turks and Caicos Islands Under 14 Girls are full of confidence as they go into battle against St. Kitts and Nevis in Tier 2 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under 14 Challenge, starting at 3:30 pm today.

The local girls got by their Dutch-speaking Caribbean counterparts by two goals to nil, courtesy of Rosaria Talbot and Olivia Park. Getting past St. Kitts and Nevis today, will place this little island chain in good stead to advance from that zone. The game against the TCI will be St. Kitts’ first.

As a result of the win, the Turks and Caicos Islands and Aruba are tied at the top of Tier 2, with three points each, but Aruba, because of their superior goal difference, top the leaderboard at this time.

In the other games played on Sunday, Jamaica decimated Grenada by a 6-1 margin, Aruba annihilated the U.S. Virgin Islands 7-0, while Puerto clipped the Dominican Republic 2-1.

Aruba, who will be in action again today, is expected to get past Curacao, who are still smarting from their loss to TCI.

In the other scheduled games today, Haiti will bow into action against Grenada, while hosts the Dominican Republic will try to recollect themselves as they seek the ascendancy over Jamaica in Tier 2 actions.

Jamaica and Puerto Rico are tied at the top of the table on 3 points but Jamaica leads that group because of a superior goal difference.
