TCI Community College (TCICC) takes a bold step towards academic excellence, student success, and operational innovation with the introduction of its new Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the "Charting the Future" initiative, accompanied by the hiring of two new Vice Presidents.
This announcement was made at a press conference held on Tuesday, 30th January 2024.
Underlining the significance of this development is the recent amendment to the college ordinance, reflecting a commitment to a more strategic and forward-looking approach for the institution. This initiative positions TCICC as a pioneer in shaping the educational landscape in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Newly Hired Vice Presidents:

Dr. Shaun McKay, stationed at the Grand Turk Campus, will play a pivotal role in optimizing administrative and operational functions.
Minister of Education, Honourable Rachel Taylor, lauds the college's dedication to strategic leadership, adding, "Charting A Vision for Academic Excellence and Operational Success efficiently summarizes the progressive and ambitious mission that TCICC has embarked upon!"
In a visionary mode, Honourable Taylor states that, the new Vice Presidents collectively bring a wealth of experience and impressive qualifications, and she is confident that their contributions will make a significant impact.

During her speeches, the President alluded to amendments to the ordinance, various partnerships, and the ongoing efforts in securing institutional accreditation.
TCICC has reached a significant milestone with the launch of an annual publication called "Journey Echoes: Reflections from the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College." Beyond a typical president's report, this publication aims to capture the institution's success stories and milestones amidst its transformative phase.
In her address to students who had paused their studies, Dr. Candice Williams emphasized understanding life's unexpected twists and pledged support for their academic journey. She urged students to connect with the Student Support Officer to assess their academic standing and collaborate on the necessary steps to pursue and achieve their educational goals.
In a special announcement, Dr. Williams also introduced the TCICC Mascot Competition, as part of the press conference, extending an invitation to all individuals to contribute to the design of a mascot that encapsulates the ethos of TCI Community College. This innovative initiative is closely linked to recent amendments to the college's ordinance, providing a platform to proudly showcase a distinctive mascot.
The competition, aptly named the TCICC Mascot Design Challenge: Unleash Your Creativity! offers an enticing prize purse: $600 for the 1st Place, $400 for the 2nd Place, and $200 for the viewer’s Choice Awardee. The competition is open to everyone. Furthermore, the winning mascot will be designated as the official symbol of TCICC, with the college retaining exclusive rights for its use, reproduction, and modification. The possibility of adjustments to align with branding requirements is also acknowledged. The deadline for submissions is set for 16th February 2024.
Dr. Williams expressed anticipation for the influx of innovative designs, emphasizing their potential to symbolize the spirit and identity of TCI Community College. Her sentiments echoed a call for spirited creativity, hoping for the most inspired design to emerge victorious.
This creative initiative aligns seamlessly with the "Charting the Future" theme, reinforcing the institution's dedication to progressive leadership. The combined efforts of the Executive Leadership Team, the amended ordinance, and the mascot challenge mark a significant stride towards a future characterized by academic excellence, innovation, and active community engagement. As we embark on this exciting chapter, we extend an invitation to all stakeholders to join us in shaping the promising trajectory of TCI Community College.
