TCI COVID Cases shuffle To 107

The Turks and Caicos Islands daily COVID-19 active case rate has inched up by two to 107 after five more cases were recorded, but there have been four new recoveries.


According to the Ministry of Health, over the past 24 hours, five new cases have been identified. Again, Providenciales has been the main culprit, recording four of the cases, while the other was recorded in the country’s capital Grand Turk.


The number of recoveries now stands at 2,623. The Ministry of Health said that its public health team continues to implement aggressive contact tracing and control measures in relation to all active cases.


The total number of confirmed positive cases identified in the TCI to date now stands at 2,758. No COVID-19-related deaths were reported over the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-related deaths stands at 20.


In the meantime, the Ministry of Health said 129 new PCR test results have been recorded by the national public health laboratory.


To date, the TCI has recorded a total of 31,377 PCR test results, with 28,619 confirmed to be negative and 2,758 positive confirmations. In addition, 594 new Antigen tests have been recorded, bringing the total number of Antigen tests to 235,805.


The ministry stated that all persons confirmed not to have COVID-19, and any contacts, (if quarantined, will be removed from quarantine/observation status) are asked to continue following proper guidelines from the Ministry of Health.
