A team of Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force detectives are working to arrest the triggerman of gunshot victim who turned up at the Cheshirehall Medical Centre in Providenciales and later died.
According to police reports, the incident took place on Sunday, August 8, shortly after 9pm.
Police reported that the 23-year-old victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries while medical personnel at the facility attended to him. His death has pushed the murder statistics since the start of the year to five.
It is not clear where on his body the man received the bullet would, neither was it established where the incident took place.
To this end, Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting has issued a call to the public to assist with this latest murder investigation.
"As always, we depend on the cooperation of witnesses to come forward to assist with bringing the suspect to justice. This time is no different as we are appealing to anyone with information about the shooting to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline on 1-800-8477 (TIPS). Alternatively, you can contact 911", Botting pleaded.
In the meantime, the police are seeking the public’s assistance in another shooting incident, which left a 31-year-old man injured on the island of North Caicos on Sunday, August 8.
The incident reportedly took place shortly after 12am, at Horse Stable Beach.
The man was taken to Providenciales for further medical treatment. His condition is not clear at this time.
